Editorial Analysis

Price: $149.00

I have a questionOur editorial analysis will provide you with a general evaluation of the following and a specific recommendation of the level of service we think you need (if any):

  • The appropriateness of the content for the intended readership
  • Grammar
  • Punctuation
  • Syntax
  • Style and content of notes, bibliographies, references, and citations
  • Permissions
  • Art and figures

Add To CartThe four levels of service we offer are basically two levels of two distinct types of editing. See our examples of each if you wish CLICK HERE. In a nutshell, our program is based on working on two components of your manuscript, the mechanical component, and the content. We highly recommend that you do the Editorial Analysis first because we review both and base our recommended level of editing on both. If your content is adequate to sell this book to what we consider your market (children, young adults, adults) then we will recommend a Level 1 or 2 both of which focus on the mechanical errors (grammar, punctuation, etc.). If we feel that the content could be improved by suggesting alternative words or phrases, then Levels 3 or 4 will be recommended. If you know you want this type of copy editing to the content made, then you may choose a Level 3 (and you can still opt to do this after a Level 1 or 2 is recommended after an Editorial Analysis.). So to clarify, Levels 1 and 2 make sure that the grammar and punctuation are correct. Level 2 finds more errors and therefore costs a little more. Levels 3 and 4 go a bit further into content and may recommend different choices of words or at least query things for you. The difference between these two levels is that Level 3 is reviewed once by an editor and you either accept or reject the comments, and Level 4 involves a “dialogue” between you and the editor, in that the editor looks at your manuscript twice. Review each service at your leisure and choose for yourself.
